Bookkeeper Job 

Temporary worker for 9 months in Nova Scotia with experience in bookkeeper to join their team.


  • Overview

    • Ensure that all bills are paid on time, comply with CRA payment requirement, transactions are recorded correctly and complete weekly payroll and taxes.
    • Responsible for recording daily financial transactions, updating a general ledger and preparing trial balances. Maintain and file requisite documents for taxation compliance.
    • Monitor cash flow and produce financial reports.
  • Responsibilities

    • Maintaining records of financial transactions by posting and reconciling
    • Complete weekly payroll runs
    • Generate invoices Maintaining subsidiary accounts by posting, verifying and allocating transactions
    • Reconciling entries to balance subsidiary accounts
    • Maintaining a balanced general ledger
    • Preparing a trial balance for the accountants
    • Preparing financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing accounting for information
    • Ensuring compliance with federal, provincial and municipal legal requirements
  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline
    • CPA is desirable
    • Previous bookkeeping experience preferred
    • Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Agricultural engineer 

Temporary worker for 9 months in Nova Scotia with experience in agronomy, preferably agronomist with intermediate English and the other position for assistant agronomist.


  • Previous experience

    • This job requires a minimum of 12 months of verifiable experience, handling manual and mechanized tasks, as an agricultural producer, with agronomic recommendations and farm management experience.
    • Applicants must be able to provide verifiable job references or comparable third-party documentation from recent employers, establishing acceptable prior experience.

    Workers must be able to perform manual and mechanized tasks with precision and efficiency.

  • Requirements

    • Intermediate English

  • Tasks/Responsibilities

    • Create a crop plan, including maps, planting order, and variety recommendations; operate farm equipment when needed, including, but not limited to, tractors, harvesters, ATVs, and forklifts; manage work teams during the field season; coordinate transplant production with planting operations; create and execute fertility plans for all crops; supervise and manage irrigation designs, equipment and installations; manage the weekly irrigation schedule for all crops; maintain all records (mainly certified organic requirements) for field crops; screening for lead pests and diseases, as well as pesticide applications, if applicable; supervise all field tests, including soil, plant tissue, and potency; design and conduct field tests for key objectives manage agricultural technology, including GPS, moisture sensors, imaging (if applicable), etc.

    • Supervise horticultural workers performing indoor and/or outdoor plant production activities.

  • General Tasks

    • Assign daily work tasks, train workers in planting, growing or harvesting techniques.
    • Train workers on safety protocols and safe handling/operation of equipment.
    • Perform quality control inspections on products.
    • Observe workers to detect inefficient or unsafe work procedures.
    • Review work to assess timeliness and competence.
    • Direct or assist with the repair of farm equipment or machinery.
    • Prepare reports on production and performance.
    • Supervise the application of chemicals and other associated work activities.
    • Outdoor work is required when plants are wet, or during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity, and extreme temperatures. Temperatures in the fields during working hours can vary.

  • Overview

    Workers may be required to work during occasional rain showers that are not severe enough to stop field operations.

    Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honey bees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals can affect a worker’s ability to do the job.

    The work is performed outdoors for long periods of time and requires prolonged periods standing and/or walking, repetitive movements and flexibility, and/orbending frequently.

    Workers must be able to handle, lift and transport heavy or bulky objects (product, containers) in accordance with the specified lifting requirements.

    Work required on Saturdays.

    Must have or be able to obtain driver’s license.

    Workers with proper licenses and a valid medical certificate may be required to drive other workers.

    Applicants must be able to provide verifiable job references or comparable third-party documentation from recent employers, establishing acceptable prior experience.

    The employer may request, but not require, that workers work more than the stated daily hours and/or on a worker’s Saturday or federal holidays.

    Workers will have a lunch break without pay.

    The worker must report to work at the designated time and place each day.

    Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions and other factors.

    The employer will notify workers of any change in start time.
